Makeup Brushes

This post is going to help all of you out when it comes to those two words: Makeup Brushes. I think when your starting off in the whole makeup faze you really only need six brushes to complete most looks. Those brushes are total face, eyeshadow/flatshader, crease, highlight, blush, and foundation brush. Also, when your first starting off you don't need to go a buy all Mac brushes instead, you can buy good cheap brushes such as e.l.f brushes and then as you get better and build your collection and whenyou know you truly want to invest in makeup you can go buy those glamorous mac brushes.

from left to right: E.l.f brushes- total face brush, blush brush, foundation brush, eyeshadow brush, crease brush, and highlight brush.

The three face brushes:

1. Foundation brush- This brush is pretty self explanatory, a brush to put on foundation. The Mac 190 foundation brush works really good doesn't make your foundation look cakey or streaking while the e.l.f brush literally sucks. It's really thin so it hardly moves your foundations and it just makes it look all streaky and cakey. Streaky and cakey makeup is trashy not classy, and vivalaglam girls are classy. Oh that reminds me of a book im reading called Classy by Derek Blasberg girls I recommend all of you get this book because not only is it hilarious its actually really help full. Sorry ADD moment but now back on track....basically the e.l.f foundation brush sucks so invest in a better brush.

2. Total face brush- This brush is used to put on a powdered foundation and cover up. The elf one works really good almost as good as the mac in my opinion. The comparable mac one is the 134 powder brush. Both work really good to put powdered makeup on.

3. Blush brush- I really really recommend getting the elf bronzing brush, which i use as a bronzer and blush brush. You can use the same brush as long as after each time you use it you just wipe it off after. The elf brush puts blush on so well because its slanted and really gets a good glowy mist looks when you use bronzer. Although I havent tried the comparable mac 168 brush I strongly urge you to go with the elf brush. Well, I'm not pushing the elf brush on you!

Now the three eye brushes:

1. Eyeshadow brush/flatshadder- This is the brush that's used to put eyeshadow onto the lids of your eyes. The elf one works really good but the Mac 239 really picks up the eyeshadow a little better. But for a a dollar I still would recommend the elf one.

2. Crease brush- Now this brush is used to put in eyeshadow in the little groove of your eye after you lid but before you face bone. This Elf blending brush works really well as well as the mac 217.

3. Highlight brush- Now this isn't the name of the brush you use to highlight but for reasons that's what I'm referring it to. Now a highlight brush is used to put eyeshadow right below your eyebrow and highlight your brow. I use the elf defining eye brush because its angled so it really works with my eyebrow shape so I really like that. The equivalent is the mac 228 mini brush. Both brushes work really well.
